History
1st June 1990 – GM Records is founded
The company’s initial activity is the manufacture of compact cassettes.
In establishing the company, Marek Grela recognised and in a responsible manner took advantage of the period of transformation to a market economy. The first steps were not easy, but over time GM Records developed from a small family firm into one of the leading companies on the optical media market, developing dynamically and adjusting the company’s profile to the expectations of the market. In addition to the production of cassettes and discs, as recently as 2005 GM Records conducted publishing activity. During the 19 years since its creation, the company has systematically purchased production lines for the manufacture of CDs and later DVDs, and recently also production lines adapted for replication of the most modern types of disc – DVDplus and HD DVD. Today, GM Records is a company occupying 8,200m2 and employing approximately 250 people.
A factor intrinsic to the strengthening of the company’s brand is participation in a wide range of prestigious trade fairs together smaller, thematic conferences and other types of events. On many occasions we have taken part in both domestic and international events (e.g. the Komputer Expo computer fair, Info System, Games Convention, Cebit, SIMO in Spain, film and music shows in Cannes etc.).
