DVD for the jury of the European Film Academy
The DVD was commissioned by TVP S.A. ‘Komornik’ by Feliks Falk was the only Polish production to be included on the ‘short list’ of the films entered for the competition. It is from this list that the members of the European Film Academy will nominate the films to receive the prizes, and in consequence they will choose the winners in these categories: The Best European Film of the Year, The Best European Director, Actor, Actress, Cinematography, Scriptwriter, Camera Operator. The nominations and prizes will be appointed by the members of the Academy, which comprises European directors, screenwriters, actors, producers and distributors.
In accordance with the order placed by TVP S.A., GM Records pressed and delivered 1500 promotional copies of the film, translated into English, already at the end of August. On September 1st the procedure of sending the films and their assessment by the members of the Academy began. The grand finale will take place during the official gala on December 2nd in Warsaw.
‘The fact that GM Records was entrusted with the realisation of this project is a sign of the trust placed in our company and the belief in our competences and professionalism. We hope that the work we performed, will, if only minimally, help the film to be successful,’ Bernard Lubański, the Director of the Sales and Marketing Department says.
So far ‘Komornik’ by Feliks Falk has won acclaim from the members of the Polish Film Academy, and has received Eagle 2006 prize in a few categories: The Best Film, The Best Actress for Kinga Preis, The Best Actor for Andrzej Chyra, The Best Director for Feliks Falk, as well as the Best Screenplay and the Best Cinematography. Moreover, it also received the Audience Prize. The film is also this year’s Poland’s candidate for the Oscar Prize in the Best Foreign Film category.
