GM Records presses, it does not publish

For the last dozen or so years, the GM Records Company Publishing Office had been one of the main music publishers in Poland. The company had been releasing several hundreds of positions annually. The majority of them hit the tops of the sales rankings. However, that kind of activity had never been the basic domain of the business activity carried out by GM Records. Therefore, in accordance with the assumptions of the Investment Plan, which has been implemented since 2004 and concerns the development of the currently operating enterprise, the Company’s owner has taken the decision to cease further publishing activity from February 1, 2005.

- Whilst forecasting a prosperous economic condition for CDs and DVDs pressing, we have been mainly dealing with our market domain for several years. Within the years 1999-2003, we were consequently fulfilling our own strategy which aimed at a constant implementation of new technologies in a pace following the technological development’s pace. Both our forecasts and the strategy implemented have proved to be right. At present, the GM Records Company is an absolute leader in the trade on the Polish market. In order to sustain such a high position, we have decided to focus all our energy on the further development of what we are best at, namely, pressing all types of optical discs – says Marek Grela, the President of GM Records.

The Platinum Collection is one of the most famous productions of the GM Records publishing activity. It is made up by five hundred albums containing hits of the most outstanding stars of the Polish and worldwide music scene.

- We are happy that the Publishing Office established by us has made a significant contribution to the popularisation of the greatest musical artists of the twentieth century. We have given those artists a kind of “another life”. Thanks to our disks, the young generation could discover the most valuable works which had remained forgotten in the era of the mass music productions deluge. We rendered a service to the past, now it is time for the future which means a constant development and acquisition of new technologies. We want our customers to be the first to receive the highest possible quality.
