Discs on printing

Optical media is one of the most popular products around today, which is why GM Records spares no effort in ensuring that the customer is satisfied with the final product.

The company has its own DTP studio and printing shop. The machinery park is based on screen and offset printing equipment. As the first company to do so in Poland, GM Records implemented the use of offset printers to print CDs and DVDs. All printers are equipped with scanners for individual reading of each production - markings on CDs and DVDs. These identify discs from individual orders until the moment of their individual markings (printing). The possibility to make mistakes is excluded and potentially defective items are removed. Ecological paints are used to print discs (which are hardened with UV beams), purchased from leading European manufacturers (Marabou, Ruco, Sericol and Sicpa).

The difference between offset and screen printing

OFFSET
allows better quality to be achieved and also more specific reproduction of graphics and photographs. It ensures the highest level of sharpness and clarity. It faithfully reproduces graphics and even photographs, giving them a realistic appearance. It guarantees that labels will contain crystal-like and transparent images.

In the event of high volume printing we use offset technology, which is not however the rule. This technique guarantees higher quality than screen printing, thanks to which we can very faithfully reproduce for example photographs. Offset printing is offered with 175lpi ruling. Its unique functionality is that after printing the machines can apply UV varnish.

SCREEN PRINTING
if bright colours are dominant in the project or big surfaces of unified compression (saturation), the SCREEN PRINTING method is the most appropriate. It allows a higher saturation effect to be achieved, and printing will underscore the intensity of the colours.

Printing with the use of screen printing technology is performed by us for all volumes. These are high quality, which is obtained thanks to the large 133lpi ruling applied by us (the standard is 110lpi). In this respect we are competitive. During the printing process we apply the 4 basic colours of the CMYK system, and in addition we have a workstation for apla white. At the customer’s request we also print in the Pantone system.
